S2E for the Entrepreneur

In a 1995 interview, Steve Jobs said at every stage of Apple whether he was in his garage or later at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, being successful required vision and execution. Not all of us have the innate abilities of a Steve Jobs and need some help. Not long ago, the tools of strategy and execution were only available in large companies or from consultants. That’s no longer true.

To help introduce these tools to new audiences, we are creating a “S2E for the Entrepreneur” series featuring blogs, videos, and maybe even a podcast, focused on how young entrepreneurs can combat the challenges they face when building a startup company. This “S2E for the Entrepreneur” series will take place over the next several months. The story will follow our friend Jake as he enters into the vinyl record industry. Yes, we said vinyl records. At a time when music listening is at an all-time high thanks to digital music and the ability to stream and download songs to any device for free, vinyl sales are growing to the surprise of most. Is it the nostalgia effect? The sound quality? The desire to own something physical in what’s becoming a digital world?
Follow Jake from the initial strategy and vision, to building a competitive business model, and attempting to overcome various obstacles as he attempts to grow his vinyl record business.
