AI Roadmap

Knowing where, when, and how to apply Artificial Intelligence in your business

What is Artificial Intelligence & How Can it be Used in Your Industry?

AI is a rapidly growing field within computer science that is poised to have a dramatic impact on business today. Unfortunately, most AI discussion is either wildly overstating its current capabilities (e.g., AI will rule the world) or so deep in the technology weeds that it’s hard for business leaders to understand where and how to leverage it to their advantage.

At Accelare, we lead by example – inviting AI to the table – as we implement our digital transformation methodology. Our consultants use generative AI in our workshops to quickly and efficiently create a set of best practice processes specific to your industry. In fact, we use generative AI throughout our approach to quickly create straw Service Catalogs, Operating Models, and Heat Maps the executive team can react to and calibrate, aligning on the core business processes that could leverage current, state-of-the-art AI and enhance the organization’s competitiveness.

The Operating Model of the Enterprise

Using generative AI, the executives and Accelare’s consultants (the Team) build a conceptual model of all the processes the organization employs to deliver its value proposition to the customer (e.g., the Operating Model).

The Operating Model is a new, unique view into the organization providing a customer-centric lens beyond the traditional Org-chart – because customers don’t consume departments and reporting structures, they consume the output of processes.

Identifying the organization’s Operating Model is a critical first step in creating the canvas on which AI can have the biggest payoff.

Customer Identification, Service Catalog Creation, and AI Heat Mapping

The Team, again, leverages generative AI to help the organization identify who their customer is (believe it or not, often times this isn’t well understood within an organization) and what services those customers are consuming (again, not an uncommon question for service companies). These two elements provide additional context to the Operating Model and allow the Team to Heat Map the model across a number of digital automation attributes (quantifying the effectiveness, efficiency of existing processes.) as well a series of proprietary digital transformation attributes that highlight areas of opportunity where AI will have the greatest impact.

AI Project Roadmap, Business Cases and Cap/OpEx Budget

Once the heat mapping effort is complete, project identification, sequencing, and slotting can occur to create an AI Project Roadmap on which the annual and strategic capital and operating budget and time-phased roadmap is created to execute and monitor the AI agenda for the enterprise.

Digital Disruption Assessment

Digital disruption refers to the profound impact digital technologies have on traditional industries and their business models. It involves the use of digital innovations, such as artificial intelligence, mobile apps, and online platforms, to create new ways of doing business and to challenge and transform established methods and markets.

Accelare’s AI Roadmap helps organizations quickly identify processes that could benefit from AI. Where's the Pay Off?

Understanding the types of AI ready to be applied to your business and developing a plan is critical to your competitiveness.  A State’s Department of Transportation sponsored an AI program so that DOT, Department of Motor Vehicles, Local Police Departments, Insurance Companies and many more parties can efficiently capture and share critical crash information.

There is a lot of personal information in vehicle accident reports.  Using AI to learn to read hand-written reports, redact private information and and share motor vehicle accidents reports leads to the creation of a data lake and allows redacted data to be shared across the industry.  This data sharing supports the analysis for improved road safety and a reduction in the number of severe and fatal motor vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian accidents across the country.
