About Us

Accelare associates have been at the forefront of much of the innovation in business operational improvement, performance management, and business architecture over the last 2 decades.  Accelare’s founders were key contributors to the best-selling books of Michael Hammer and Jim Champy, including; Reengineering the Corporation, The Reengineering Handbook, and X-Engineering the Corporation. Recently, Accelare's work was featured in the June 2009 Harvard Business Review article, "The Next Revolution in Productivity", co-authored by Accelare CEO, Jack Calhoun.

Accelare was founded by Jack Calhoun and Mark McCormick in 2001, in Boston, Massachusetts.  Today, Accelare services businesses across the country with additional locations in Minneapolis, Dallas, and Wilmington, NC.

In 2006, Accelare launched into the software market, with WhatFirst. Soon launching the 4.0 version, WhatFirst is an award winning software solution for helping business and IT leaders achieve and sustain the benefits of having a clearly defined business architecture.

In 2008, Accelare acquired the Capable Company Group, along with its leaders, the authors of The Capable Company, and Measure Up!.

Our services are delivered through our agile operational improvement methodology — The Accelare Performance Framework. The Accelare Performance Framework is an integrated set of methods and tools to help our customers quickly deliver value and results to their efforts, with services for:
